Immigrant Services is an official Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test (CLBPT) site, licensed by the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks. The CLBPT assesses your ability to listen, speak, read and write English. The CLBPT is for people who do not have English as a first language and who wish to register in federally or provincially funded language or job training programs such as LINC or Skills Connect that require a CLB for entry. The CLBPT cannot be used for citizenship purposes.
FREE ENGLISH INSTRUCTION IN MORNING AND EVENING CLASSES.
For morning LINC students with children birth to 5 years, qualified staff provide culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate care. The benefit of having childcare on site is that newcomer parents are connected with community services and specialized child development services that they may not have known were available or needed. As Childcare space is limited, referrals and assistance with Affordable Child Care Benefits can be arranged.
FREE DROP-IN CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH
Outside a formal classroom setting, learn and practice speaking English. This language support is available to all immigrants including visitors and other newcomers who do not meet the qualifications for our LINC classes.
