  5. Quarterly Community Conversations involving newcomers and long term residents
  6. Annual Immigrant Service Provider Network Meeting
  7. Annual Public Forum to showcase research and report on action plan
  8. Communication strategy for knowledge sharing and to promote our goals, activities, and progress
  9. Evaluation of all activities


In 2013, Chilliwack Community Services began delivery of the provincially funded Welcoming Communities Program. This program came to a successful conclusion in March 2014. Check out this video to see the work that was accomplished!

Efforts to build a welcoming and inclusive community in Chilliwack have continued since then under the federally funded Chilliwack Local Immigration Partnership. Issues important to Chilliwack’s newcomers are addressed through a variety of activities as well as implementation of a Local Settlement Strategy and action plan.

LIP Partnership Council

The partnership council’s main goal of the community-based partnership is to oversee the development of a local Partnership does not deliver services directly to newcomers but provides a collaborative framework to facilitate the development and implementation of sustainable solutions for successful immigrant integration that are tailored to the City of Chilliwack and surrounding area.
