English Language Classes

Free English instruction in morning and evening classes.

  • September to June
  • Immigrants 17 years and older.
  • Application and assessment required.

English language instruction within the context of day to day life skills is provided to adult immigrants to assist them to settle successfully and participate in all aspects of Canadian society as quickly as possible.  English language training is offered using a variety of instructional methods in five morning and two evening classes.

Child care available for morning classes only, ages 0 to 5 years.

For students with children 0 to 5 years, qualified staff provide culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate care.  The benefit of having childcare on site is that newcomer parents are connected with community services and specialized child development services that they may not have known were available or needed.

Free drop-in conversational English

Outside a formal classroom setting, learn and practice speaking English.  Often this is the only language support available to visitors, or other newcomers who do not meet the qualifications for our English classes.
