English Services for Adults
Provides immigrants orientation and basic English language lessons to help understand and settle in Canadian society.
To attend ELSA classes, students must:
- Be 17 years old or older
- Be a Landed Immigrant, Refugee, Refugee Claimant or Naturalized Canadian Citizen
- Complete application form
- Have a Copy of permanent resident card, record of landing, ministerial permit, or Canadian citizenship card
Morning classes offered Monday to Thursday and evening classes offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from September to June at Central Elementary Community School. Child minding available during morning classes for children ages 0 to 5.
Conversation Class:
Conversation class Tuesday and Thursday, 12:15 - 2:00 p.m. for students not eligible for the ELSA program.

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to Friday

Immigrant Settlement Program
For landed immigrants, refugees and naturalized Canadian citizens of all cultures living in Chilliwack, Sardis, Harrison, Agassiz and Hope .
• Helps immigrants understand and settle in Canadian society by providing information, workshops, orientation, support and referrals to community services.
Services Provided:
• Forms Filling – Help given to complete forms for child tax benefits, medical care cards, social insurance numbers, passports, sponsorships and citizenship.
• Referrals – Help given to locate employment offices, health services, hospitals, school districts and other community services.
• Workshops – Information provided on many topics including health, employment, banking, municipal services.
• Adjustment support – Support and assistance to adjust to living and working in Canada.
• Interpretation – Interpretation/translation services available in more than fifteen languages.
