Christmas Sharing

The Chilliwack Salvation Army and Chilliwack Community Services have been partners in providing local families in Chilliwack with Christmas hampers since 1987. The Salvation Army provides families with the food portion of the hamper and Chilliwack Community Services provides the toy/gift portion for children up to 18 years old.

Christmas Sharing

WHY WE GIVE DURING CHRISTMAS

Imagine a child waking up to discover Santa didn’t come or a family having to choose between paying the hydro bill or buying groceries. What most of us take for granted each and every day is not a choice for some. A winter coat, boots that fit, a visit to the dentist long remain on a wish list. Come January, circumstances don’t change. Cold temperatures continue to spring. Empty cupboards open daily. Lack of toiletries and medications leave others vulnerable to poor health.

Christmas Sharing helps to alleviate some of that stress during the holiday season, where children can wake up to Christmas joy on Christmas morning.
